Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology

Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)

I will be completing my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, with a major in Exercise Science May of 2021. I'll then be the first female in my family to get a Bachelor's Degree. I plan to complete certifications after graduation to become an Exercise Physiologist through ACSM and a Strength & Conditioning Coach through NSCA. I truly am happy with the degree path that I have taken and I am very passionate about exercise. I have gained so much during my college career that I now want to use to change the world with.  Also to change the stigma with fitness, and educate others about any misconceptions with exercise.  One of the main reasons that I chose to do this degree because I love being able to help others with their athletic goals, fitness goals & being able to see what they accomplish along the way.  I'm very passionate about serving others and pushing others to their full potential, and I believe that this is because of everyone that always has done this for me throughout my life.

Parkview Sports Medicine - Sports Performance

In January 2021, I started my Internship with Parkview Sports Medicine - Performance. I have worked alongside Strength and conditioning coaches with youth club athletes ages 8-19, to gain balance, speed, coordination, flexibility and strength. I assist with team training including warm-ups, strength training, plyometrics, speed, agility and change of direction. I have designed macrocycle programs for athletes and review evidence-based research. I chose this path because I am interested in learning more about Human Performance, stepping completely out of my comfort zones into a new career, and helping others be the best that they can be. My goal after this Internship is finished in May is to stay with PSM Performance where I will continue to grow in the field and be a Sports Performance Specialist.

I have been accepted into University of Florida's online masters program in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a specialization in Integrative Strength and Conditioning Science. I will be attending Fall of 2021. I chose that I wanted to apply to University of Florida because of the classes fitting more of my personality and future goals. I really do want to learn more about the human body related to exercise and sports performance. I want to continue with further going into research & gain much more experience & knowledge so I can make a bigger impact into others lives.

What do I want to become?

Professor

After I complete my Master's Degree, one of my goals is to continue coaching, become a college Professor and teach in the field of Kinesiology. I have interest in wanting to pursue a PhD after completing my Master's Degree in Kinesiology. I have a career goal of becoming a  college professor because I feel that this would be a very rewarding career. Pursuing a passion is truly where magic happens and I truly love to teach others, especially anything related with exercise. I feel that I can make a big impact in other's lives as well.  I love to empower others to believe in who they truly are and to believe that anything is possible.
